Safety in mexico

Mexico is geographically a large country. Traveling from tip to tip is approximately a distance of 2,700 miles. Every year 20 million visitors travel there. Mexico ranks in the top 10 of most-visited countries for tourism in the world. Most of the violent crime in Mexico is concentrated in the border areas closest to the United States. Because of the distances, crime that happens in Reynosa has no effect on our city of Mazatlán.

That being said, as a ministry we are well aware of the increasing violence that has plagued Mexico in recent years, and we take the safety of our teams and visitors very seriously. We provide housing in the safest part of town at our STS facility, we stay together in groups, we do most of our work during daylight hours, and we always have capable guides and translators with our teams. We thank God that in over 20 years with hundreds of visitors and many teams, none of our participants have ever experienced an incident of violent crime.

As with all things, our lives are in God’s hands as we serve Him with faith and faithfulness.
